Climate and Weather

South Africa is subtropical with a warm,temperate climate which makes it very popular with foreign visitors. Weather varies across different parts of the country. The Waterberg enjoys an exceptional climate all year round across the seasons.

Being in the southern hemisphere the seasons are the opposite in months compared to Europe and North America.

Summer  (mid Oct- Mid Feb)

Characterised by hot, sunny days and warm, balmy nights. This is also the rainfall season which generally falls in the form of short storms, after which the sun comes out.

Autumn (mid Feb- April)

Lovely weather, generally very little rain and warm.

Winter (May- July)

Dry, sunny, crisp days and cold nights. No rainfall and the bush is dry and brown, providing excellent conditions for game viewing.

Spring (August – mid October)

Warm to hot days and cool nights. First rains start at the end of the season.
